Persuasive essay from 2014
Open the pdf file for the 2014 AP Spanish free response section. You will use pages 4-8. Page 4 is the instructions. Pages 5-7 are the written sources and page 5 has information about the audio source. Once you have the pdf open, start the audio. It will go for almost 15 minutes. It will begin with the instructions and you can read along or you can read the essay topic and begin organizing and reading the two sources: the article and the chart. Remember that your essay will be based on the sources. The audio narrator will then give you six minutes to read the two sources. Remember to underline things that you can use to support your thesis. After the reading time is up, the audio source will be played two times. Listen and take notes. You will use the audio source in your essay. Even if a source is against your point of view, you can say something like, "De acuerdo con el gráfico,...., pero otras personas dicen lo contrario." Don't forget to read page 8 before you listen to the audio so that you know what the audio is about. Then the recording will say that you have 40 minutes to write. You need to time yourself. Make sure you have paragraphs. YOU MUST HAVE A THESIS BASED ON THE QUESTION. Use transition words: primero, segundo, además, también, por otro lado, en conclusión, etc. Make sure you cite your sources: (fuente 1), de acuerdo con la lectura, según el gráfico, etc.
